Welcome to Flight Operations

The Flight Operations centre is designed to replicate the training structure of the Royal Air Force. With the course starting on Basic Computer training in the Slingsby Firefly, and based around Microsoft Flight Simulator. The training program progresses to cover everyday aspects of Royal Air Force Flight Operations, for example Air Traffic Control, and fast jet training. Our fast jet training is based on 4 sit-in simulators, all of which are cockpit replica's of the BAC Jet Provost T Mk 1. Advanced simulator training is carried out on the moving simulator, and this course covers advanced level of flight for example ILS landings.

When you first arrive

On arrival into the flight you will introduced to the various simulators mentioned above and instructed on the proper radio procedure required for flight. This ensures that when you are actually out flying you use the correct terminology and commands.
